![]() ![]() Having really enjoyed Bethany’s Masque of the Red Death (I have yet to read the sequel), I knew that I was in for a stunning read. The Fall was so very unique and the writing: wonderfully atmospheric. In the end, can Madeline keep her own sanity and bring the house down? The Fall is a literary psychological thriller, reimagining Edgar Allan Poe’s classic The Fall of the House of Usher. Her only chance lies in destroying the house. Madeline’s life-revealed through short bursts of memory-has hinged around her desperate plan to escape, to save herself and her brother. Ushers can never leave their house, a house that haunts and is haunted, a house that almost seems to have a mind of its own. She has spent her life fighting fate, and she thought she was succeeding. ![]() ![]() My Heart and Other Black Holes had so much potential-a lot of novel accurately described what it feels like to be depressed. I came really close to DNFing this book at 96% on principle alone because I was fed one thing in the beginning of the novel, only to be force fed something entirely different by the end. Except that Roman may not be so easy to convince. Ultimately, she must choose between wanting to die or trying to convince Roman to live so they can discover the potential of their energy together. But as their suicide pact becomes more concrete, Aysel begins to question whether she really wants to go through with it. But once she discovers a website with a section called Suicide Partners, Aysel’s convinced she’s found her solution: a teen boy with the username FrozenRobot (aka Roman) who’s haunted by a family tragedy is looking for a partner.Įven though Aysel and Roman have nothing in common, they slowly start to fill in each other’s broken lives. ![]() There’s only one problem: she’s not sure she has the courage to do it alone. With a mother who can barely look at her without wincing, classmates who whisper behind her back, and a father whose violent crime rocked her small town, Aysel is ready to turn her potential energy into nothingness. ![]() Sixteen-year-old physics nerd Aysel is obsessed with plotting her own death. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Insights and Ideas for the New American Home Please scroll down the page for the "Add to Order" button. At parties, why do we spend more time in the kitchen and family rooms than we do in the formal living and dining rooms? What makes the sunny, intimate breakfast nook more inviting than the vaulted spaciousness of a cathedral-ceiling great room? The Not So Big House proposes clear, workable guidelines for creating homes that serve both our spiritual needs and our material requirements, whether for a couple with no children, a family, empty nesters, or one person alone. Architects and builders around the country report clients showing up with dog-eared copies of The Not So Big House, pages marked to a favorite section.
